Thunder Late Summer Invitational/Showcase

2010 will be the first year that Thunder organization hosts the Late Summer Invitational/Showcase. This tournament is an ASA invitational tournament with 16U and 18U berths to Eastern Nationals. The tournament offers competition for 16U, 18U, 18U Gold and 23U teams. Tournament is a 4gg with three games on Saturday and single elimination on Sunday. Tournament will be played at several complexes near Hagerstown, MD. The 18U/18U Gold tournament will be held at 1 four field complex. The 16U will either be at the same complex or 5 minutes away at a 3 field lighted complex. Both 16U and 18U will play with 200 ft fences. The 23U teams will play at the Hagerstown Fairgrounds.
Although the Thunder organization has hosted tournaments for the past 5 years, this is our first year on this weekend. We have a very good reputation in our tournaments and normally teams who play with us 1 year return the following year.
What about the showcase part...isn't this a showcase?
Yes. The Thunder organization is striving to run a well organized tournament this year in hopes of transitioning this tournament into a quality showcase. This year we will be inviting strong, competitive teams and college coaches from the East Coast. We think it is important to create a showcase environment where all teams are at the same complex and coaches have easy access to all games. The tournament will remain small with a max of 25 teams in the 18U/18U Gold division each year. We will provide college coaches with player profiles for all teams.
